HOW TO WORK YOUR GOALS IN 2018

Celebrate the small wins

Make sure that as well as big goals, you also have smaller goals that you can work towards. These will keep you motivated because you can see them being ‘ticked’ off and you can celebrate them sooner. My celebrating the small wins, you will be more motivated and determined to get to those big wins you’re aiming for.

Give them a 'why'

The more meaning you put behind your goals, the more they are going to work for you and the more likely you’re going to achieve them! Ask yourself why they are your goals. Why are they going to benefit your life? How will your life be better for achieving them?

Make a vision board

Start collecting bits and pieces that showcase what you want your life to like by the end of the year:

  • Write down phrases or words
  • Take screen shots of pictures and quotes
  • Cut and paste from magazines
  • Write down paragraphs of intentions and dreams

Make it as detailed and as full as possible so you are totally clear with yourself as to what you’re aiming for this year. Look back at it whenever you need a little inspiration.

Ask yourself 'why haven't I achieved these already?'

This is a huge question as it will:

  • show yourself where you went wrong before if you have previously attempted it or…
  • present barriers to you that you need to work through in order to achieve your goal.

3 baby steps

This is my biggest tip for you! Write down three small baby steps that you can do each day to take you closer towards your goals. Make sure they are realistic and achievable in that one day. That way by the end of the week you can see a list of 21 things you have done that are taking you closer to your end goal – great for motivation, discipline and persistence.
