Who doesn't love chocolate??

I'm a massive chocolate lover and love to indulge in a chocolate based sweet treat! These doughnuts are perfect for this time of year (or any time of year!) - full of flavour and a wonderful indulgence for if you need a chocolate fix!

These are refined sugar free, can be made gluten free (depending on the flour used), dairy free (substitute the greek yogurt for coconut yogurt) and vegan too!

Chocolate Orange Ginger Doughnuts 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • 100g Greek yogurt
  • 200ml Milk of choice
  • 200g Flour of choice
  • 60ml Maple syrup
  • 6tsp Stevia
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 40g Cacao powder
  • 1tsp cinnamon
  • 1tsp ground ginger

ICING:

  • 100g Yogurt
  • Zest orange
  • 1tsp Stevia
  • 1 tsp Maple syrup
  • 5g Cacao powder
Chocolate Orange Ginger Doughnuts

method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160^C fan assisted.
  2. Mix the ingredients for the doughnuts together and divide into 10 doughnut moulds.
  3. Bake them in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the middle.
  4. Mix the icing together and dip the tops of the donuts into the icing.
  5. Top with dried (or candied) orange peel, flaked almonds and cacao nibs.
